We were asked to develop a marketing strategy for a security company. Security Warehouse is a leading distributor of security equipment based in Centurion. The company needed someone to review its marketing efforts and suggest ways in which it could be improved. The project involved both a retail marketing component, in which security equipment is sold over the counter, as well as a consulting arm that draws up security infrastructure plans for developers.
What we did
- We worked closely with the business owner to critically review all existing marketing activity. This included in-depth interviews with the sales team and the marketing coordinator.
- We then developed a marketing plan to support the sales efforts and build brand awareness in the Gauteng area.
- Finally we provided training to the marketing coordinator so that she could manage marketing activities effectively going forward.
Based on our recommendation, the reporting structure of the marketing coordinator was changed to better support the sales team. Furthermore the company name and logo was updated to accurately reflect the core focus on security related technology. Lastly, the digital marketing efforts were improved and a revised marketing plan implemented with clear performance benchmarks.
We’ve worked with Firejuice over a period of 8 months in which he conveyed a strategic perspective to our growth ambitions. With the assistance of Firejuice we have taken a new look at how Marketing and Sales need to work together as one team in our business. We also worked closely to review the message these divisions promote to the market and how we can continuously improve our approach towards our clients through research and engagement.
